- Family Search
Familysearch is a comprehensive, free site created and maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their library contains over 2.4 million rolls of microfilmed records and has genealogy information from all over the world.
- Cyndi's List
Cyndi's List is a "card catalog" website that categorizes & provides a cross-referenced index to genealogical resources on the Internet. This comprehensive site is a good starting point for genealogical research.
- USGenWeb
The USGenWeb Project consists of a group of volunteers working together to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and state of the United States. This website provides you with links to all individual states' websites and is a free site.
- The National Genealogical Society
The National Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization that provides support and information for both beginner or professional genealogists. The site offers "how-to" materials and has standards and guidelines for research and sharing genealogical information.
